Wednesday (November 6) was not only a good day for Donald Trump but also for the wealthiest people in the world, as their fortunes surged to a record high, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index. The biggest beneficiary was Elon Musk, whose net worth increased by $26.5 billion, bringing his total wealth to $290 billion. Musk, also a strong supporter of Trump, benefited from the market rebound following Trump’s victory.

Other notable billionaires saw significant gains as well, including Jeff Bezos, who gained $7.1 billion, and Larry Ellison, who saw his wealth rise by $5.5 billion. In total, the world’s 10 richest people collectively added $64 billion to their fortunes in one day, marking the largest single-day increase since Bloomberg began tracking billionaire wealth in 2012.

The market rally on Wednesday was driven by expectations that Trump’s victory would usher in a new era of deregulation and business-friendly policies. Investors hope these changes will benefit the stock market, especially for the billionaires who hold a large share of global wealth.

Additionally, shares of Trump’s social media company, Truth Social, also soared following predictions of his victory. The company’s stock price surged by as much as 35%, boosting Trump’s equity stake, which reached a total value of $5.3 billion before declining.
